2010 Southeastern Flower Show!

It was gray and gloomy today...but not at the Southeastern Flower Show!   Now I'm inspired and officially ready for Spring!  I sat in on an entertaining talk & demonstration by Larry from Foxgloves and Ivy.  He spoke about the importance of being GREEN: using recycled glass, sustainable containers like birch bark, composting floral scraps, using less floral foam, etc.   Check out his beautiful, innovative creations below! (Pardon my photography skills...)

I am particularly inspired by the use of the aqua beads!
Who knew they could be so stylish??!  And also Green??!

Loved this table setting creation with colors inspired by Dr.Seuss!
(found in the juried section of the show)

Of course I couldn't resist picking up a few items at the Marketplace...Dahlia tubers (from D.Landreth Seed Company) and a wonderful potted Phalenopsis Orchid (Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Orchidheights') from Owen's Orchids of NC:
