I HEART Invites!

SO, I have a confession.  I LOVE designing invitations!  I love paper, texture, color, and design.  All though my creative focus right now is on flowers and pottery...every now and then I can be wrangled back into helping someone with their wedding invitations.  This is the case with my friends Kristen & Kris and their lovely jewel-toned, peacock themed wedding invitations:

Erin & Chris • October 25, 2009

I just received the professional photos from Erin & Chris' October wedding!  (Thanks EE!!)  What a beautiful Fall color scheme of bright berries and flowers!  Makes me ready for some warmer weather already- come on SPRING!  Congrats, Erin & Chris!

Erin's bouquet was a soft combination of white hydrangea, anastasia roses,  majolica spray roses and magnolia leaves.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of red cockscomb, ranunculuses, rose hips, seeded eucalyptus, green button poms, red hypericum berries, scabiosa seed pods, bupleurem, arabicum, and white cushion mums wrapped in beige satin.

2010 Southeastern Flower Show!

It was gray and gloomy today...but not at the Southeastern Flower Show!   Now I'm inspired and officially ready for Spring!  I sat in on an entertaining talk & demonstration by Larry from Foxgloves and Ivy.  He spoke about the importance of being GREEN: using recycled glass, sustainable containers like birch bark, composting floral scraps, using less floral foam, etc.   Check out his beautiful, innovative creations below! (Pardon my photography skills...)

I am particularly inspired by the use of the aqua beads!
Who knew they could be so stylish??!  And also Green??!

Loved this table setting creation with colors inspired by Dr.Seuss!
(found in the juried section of the show)

Of course I couldn't resist picking up a few items at the Marketplace...Dahlia tubers (from D.Landreth Seed Company) and a wonderful potted Phalenopsis Orchid (Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Orchidheights') from Owen's Orchids of NC:
